Reflections: Academic Year 2018-197/11/2019 Life as a History and Archaeology undergraduate in Shiv Nadar University, India This past year has been absolutely chaotic- joining university, learning how to live alone, tackling complex research assignments, and making new friends. It has been extremely difficult to adjust at times, I must admit. However, it has been the deep-seated satisfaction that I'm doing what I love most that has helped me along. In India, both archaeology and history, as they are being taught here, in this university, are rare to come by. Archaeology in particular (I'm sure most of my readers know this already!) has been something I have been wanting to study formally for a long, long time. Luckily for me, Shiv Nadar University is one of the few places where you can do archaeology at the undergraduate level in India! Over this year, I have learnt a lot about the nature of the discipline in South Asia- how it is practiced, how it could be improved, and what's in store for the future. Here are some highlights from this year:
